The members of the design research team are Nick Joseph, Isaac Sanders, Nathan Balasubramanian and Jodi Kiefer. In the area of design, we are focusing on user interfaces for educational software and what requirements they should meet in order to be the most effective in giving students the motivation to learn. For the class project we plan on implementing a simple educational game for middle school children and so our research in the area stated above will help us to make this game as effective as it can be. The strategy we plan on using in persuing our research includes interviewing people who may have a sufficient amount of knowledge on the subject, using the school library, and of course searching for information on the subject over the internet. Nathan being a teacher himself plans on asking some of his students what feedback they have and what they would like to visually see when using educational software as well. This is what his kids have come up with so far.
