![]() Hey fellow PhDs, I'm RAing at the Center for Lifelong Learning and Design (L3D). My research interests include the creation of understanding, meaning, and new ideas during the interaction between user and computer. My approach towards research – and intelectuall discursses in general – is heavily influenced by semiotics, especially Charles S. Peirce's theories. Currently, I am involved in the research and development of A New Generation Wiki for Supporting a Research Community in Creativity and IT. Most people call me hodie (pronounced ho-d). Two ColloquiaWhile I've been to several colloquia – namely "End-User Software Engineering" by Margaret M. Burnett, "The Thrill of Discovery" by Ben Shneiderman, and "Creativity Support Tools", also by Ben Shneiderman, and many L3D talks – I'd like to report about only one of them and "switch" the other one with a phd thesis defense I attended. The defense was similar to a colloquium in its form but more interesting to me than the other colloquia.1.) An Investigation of Computational Textiles with Applications to Education and Design by Leah A. Buechley. 2.) by Alexander Repenning.
