1. what
are aspects of the course so far that are positive and should be sustained?
I have had no problems with anything in the course so far. I have enjoyed
all of the readings so far.
2. what do you think about the following parts of the course?
2.1. Lectures
The lectures have been well done and class discussions have been interesting.
2.2. Guest
Lectures
I enjoyed the guest lecture and feel I learned something about interactive
art. My cousin is involved in this field to some extent. He has an interesting
website,
http://www.wiggedproductions.com.
I helped him create a customized bulletin board or forum for his site.
2.3. "practical
sessions" (EDC, PitaBoard, Role Playing)
These have been fun and interesting. It's nice to see what kind of
research is going on at CU that relates to what we're studying.
2.4. small
assignments
The small assignments I have found useful for remembering and thinking
about the readings in more depth.
2.5. efforts
of getting course participants involved in the course
The Swiki helps with this as well as class discussions. I feel closer
to classmates than in other courses and I feel more comfortable about participating
in cass discussions because everyone is very friendly.
2.6. use
of the Swiki in the course
Swiki is a very cool technology which should definitely be kept. One
of the reasons I feel closer to students in the class is the ability to read
their ideas and questions and relate my own experiences and thoughts to theirs.
2.7. peer-to-peer
learning (e.g., to which extent did it happen in your case)
I feel that the class was well designed to peer-to-peer learning and
feel that it's working well. I have enjoyed the goup activity so far and feel
I've learned something from it. Working in groups is really a better experience
than working alone. The work feels more important no matter what it is.
2.8. independent
research activities
This is going well. I enjoy participating in my group and contributing
to a group's common goal.
2.9. course
projects
We haven't really started talking about this yet.
3. which improvements would you like to see for the course?
I feel that the course has met it's goal of creating a strong collaborative
environment for course participants to the extent that it can given student's
busy schedules.
4. self-assessment
-- please let us know how well YOU think you have done in the course Think about
this in terms of your performances in:
4.1. please
give an honest answer about how much time and effort you have put into your
work so far (work hard <--> last-minute effort <--> minimum effort
to get by)
4.2. participation
(including class participation; attendance, ...);
Attendance - work hard (never missed a class)
Participation - worked hard preparing to participate, but I
am very shy.
4.3. small
assignments,
Somewhere between work hard and last minute effort. I have worked harder
at some small assignments than others due to a busy schedule
4.4. your
effort thus far in the independent research activities
work hard - I feel I have been a good collaborator in my group so far.
4.5. your
effort thus far in your project
Not really relevant yet
5. What
do you hope to learn from this course?
5.1. originally
before the course started?
I hoped to learn how to collaborate because my shyness sometimes limits
my ability to communicate and express my ideas well. I do fairly well one on
one with someone, but when a group expands to more than two, I experience anxiety.
5.2. now
(close to the end of February?)
About the same thing although now I expect to learn a great deal about
the dynamics of group activity and what makes a group transcend the individual
mind. In fact I've learned a lot about this already.
6. anything else you would like us to know?
I think I've said what I wanted to say.
