Brief overview of the technology
The technology being used consists of a number of transducers (coils) whose identity and position can be determined by a set of sensor grids embedded in the table.

There are a limited number of unique transducers, which will require us to organize the session into different phases, with each phase having pieces with behavior relevant to that phase.

The grid exhibits a fairly coarse level of granularity (each grid element is approximately 2 inches square), and the transducers need to be placed near the center of a grid element. We have displayed a gray grid representing the underlying sensor grid to serve as a reminder of the need for careful placement of pieces.

The underlying hardware only provides information on the placement and removal of pieces on the grid. The first portion of this phase demonstrates this default behavior. Feel free to explore using the pieces provided.

The second portion of this phase provides a minimal degree of software support on top of the hardware and demonstrates a form of track and slide behavior with some latency before pieces are removed from the board in case they should be placed elsewhere on the board.
